In line with the need to monitor the activities of Petrol Marketers across the state, the Anambra State Committee on Procurement, Pricing, Regulation, and Distribution of Petroleum products has advised Ndi Anambra to report any filling station engaging in unwholesome acts in the state.
This was made known by Chief Chris Okonkwo, the Chairman of the Committee who spoke with newsmen after he led members of the Committee on inspection of filling stations in Onitsha metropolis.
According to him, the call became important as a result of the need to ensure that all the marketers in the state adhere to international best practices guiding the operation of filling stations, which is one of the fundamental motives Governor Willie Obiano set up the committee.
Furthermore, Chief Okonkwo stated that they will continue to monitor the activities of petrol marketers across Anambra state to educate them on what they need to know about the business such as the dangers behind the selling of adulterated petrol and gas, sitting of gas plants at residential areas as well as checkmating other numerous excesses.
He cautioned that any member of the Committee caught in any form of unethical conduct would be severely dealt with, as the committee among other things will equally ensure that petrol marketers in the state do their business without any form of threats or molestation as well as ensure that consumers have maximum value for their money.
Rounding up, Chief Okonkwo guaranteed Governor Willie Obiano and Ndi Anambra that the committee will deliver on the mandate given it.
