Representatives of the Assembly of Anambra State Indigenes recently captivated the world at the 2024 Immigrants Cultural Festival held in Munich, Germany.

The event, organized by the immigrants’ office of the Munich Municipal Council, showcased cultural displays from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Notably, Anambra State was the sole representative of Nigeria at this global gathering.

Nze Ebuka Ifeacho, Chairman Emeritus of the Assembly of Anambra State Indigenes in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, spoke to reporters about the significance of cultural events. Known as Ozomma-Omemma Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, he highlighted how culture serves as a unifying and entertaining element among different races.

During his address, Nze Ifeacho emphasized the role of Anambra indigenes abroad and Ndigbo in general as promoters of Nigerian culture and traditions. He contrasted this with the situation back home, where, he noted, families often neglect such cultural courtesies.

Moreover, he reiterated that the festival was coordinated by the immigrants’ office, which oversees foreign countries within the Munich Municipal Council in Bavaria.

Encouraging Ndigbo worldwide, Nze Ifeacho urged them to take pride in their culture and traditions, wherever they may be, including within Nigeria. He underscored that culture is a distinctive characteristic that sets a people apart.
