ANAMBRA 2021: YOUTH GROUP CALLS FOR EQUITY, SAYS IT’S THE TURN OF ANAMBRA SOUTH

Anambra Youth under the auspices of “Anambra Youth Alliance for Equity”, AYA⁴E, yesterday staged a peaceful roadshow/awareness campaign within Awka metropolis, matching through major streets, creating awareness and insisting it is the turn of the South to produce the next Governor of Anambra state, come Nov 2021.

The sociopolitical group,ably  led by its National President, Hon. Chukwudubem Ezekwelu, stated that with the awareness it has become imperative to make their position known,  even as permutations for the 2021 election continues.

The roads show which commences at St Paul University, Awka, with a strong presence of youth representative from the 326 political wards in the State, continued through the popular Eke Awka Market, Unizik Junction, and a final push to Aroma Junction, and culminating at the Alex Ekwueme Square.

Anambra Youth Alliance for Equity is saying that Anambra would never attain prosperity without check and balance in our democratic process. Of the three zones, only Anambra South has yet to produce the chief executive of the state for more than one term.

Granting interview shortly after the successful outing, the State Chairman of the group Barr. Chika Ekwenugo emphasised the need to stick to the decision of the Anambra Elders Advisory Council, traditional rulers from the three senatorial zones, and other stakeholders, with regards to zoning.

“Our mission is to advocate and support the pronouncement of the leaders of Anambra State, as we are determined in ensuring equity and justice reins in the eveb distribution of political office”, he remarked.

On his own part, the National President, Hon Ezekwelu, revealed that the noble youth group, with a set goal and mandate, is out to support the clamour for the social political stability of the State.

According to him, “peaceful coexistence is what the youth are clamouring for and every machinery or tools that orchestrate such peace is what we support”.

Beyond the call for Anambra South to produce the next Governor, Hon. Ezekwelu in fairness stated that those Local Government Areas from the Senatorial Zone, like Nnewi South, Orumba North and South, yet to have a shot at the Governor seat, should be given the opportunity to ,as it amounts to justice and fair play

The Coordinator of Ihialla, who is also the Coordinator of all coordinators, Hon Val Ejezube, in backing earlier statements from National President and State Chairman, affirmed that the youth are now getting involve in decision making. The group according to him will ensure total adherence to zoning.

The group has promised to continue its awareness, to take the equity message to other part of the State.
