A Night of Excitement and Creativity at The Glo Battle of The Year Finale

It was an unforgettable night of excitement as the Glo Battle of the Year finale held on Saturday, April 30th at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

The InlandTown crew was on hand to take in all the festivities of the night, starting from the star studded green carpet. Speaking with the likes of Broda Shaggi, Dele Momodu, Wale Ojo, Jimmie Akinsola, Ese Eriata, Steve Babaeko and more

The live event itself featured superstar music performances, top of the bill comedians and some amazing dance crews vying for the mega millions on offer.

Having gone through the regional trials and battled their way to the final, BBoy, BGirl and Breakdance crews hit the stage with their best which was a delight to fans and viewers everywhere.

Kicking off the show was host for the day, the Energy god Do2dtun, keeping the energy of the crowd on a high. Performances from Glo ambassadors Simi and Teni the Entertainer raised the roof as the lucky few who got to attend sang and danced the night away.

Lovers of comedy were not left out either, as Ugandan comedian, Salvador as well as Nigerian star comedians Gordons and Basketmouth made sure a couple ribs were cracked.

When it was time for the competition, the fans were not let down either. The BGirls final saw Cruxxy representing Lagos defeat Vicky from Abuja to become the number 1 BGirl in Nigeria.

For the BBoys, a tense and highly contested battle between Lil Dan, Off, Six God,Lil Vic, Lym, Midnight, Trixx and Whirlz ended up with Lil Dan and Whirlz competing in the finals for the crown. Lil Dan thrilled the crowd and emerged as the champion.

The Breakdance crew finale battle was no different, as it saw Lagos based 619 crew face off against Port Harcourt heavyweights, 11 All-Stars. A battle for the ages. 619 crew came out victorious to a thunderous applause from the watching crowd.

The finale also saw winners and runner-ups from seven other dance categories awarded their cash prices from Globacom.

Afrobeats Superstar, Davido closed off the show with a performance of some of his greatest hits to an adoring crowd. The hitmaker took the crowd on a musical journey from the beginning of his career to his chart topping hits of the year.

All in all, it was a great day for fans of dance and good music as Globacom made good on their promise for an exciting night. Now, we wait for what comes next.
