7th Anniversary: Obiano’s great achievements in the Educational sector

The Obiano administration for the past seven years and still counting has recorded tremendous success in the Education sector as the state won both national and international laurels, while basic schools and tertiary institutions have  teachers attested to the special attention given to the sector.

In this special story, Education correspondent, Theophilus Ukoha reports that the Commissioner for Tertiary and Science Education, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, applauded the giant successes recorded in the Education sector, especially the upgrading of College of Agriculture Mgbakwu, to Anambra State Polytechnic confirming that the access roads to the school has been  given a face lift.

Commissioner Mbanefo also mentioned the introduction of engineering courses at the Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University COOU, and the conducive academic environment at the Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe, where both staff and students are feeling the education friendliness of Governor Obiano administration.

The Science and Technology Commissioner announced that the last one year of the Obiano administration would be used for legacy projects leaving the state better than he met it.

The Rector Anambra State Polytechnic, ANSPOLY, Mgbakwu, Dr. Nneka Mefoh, while listing the upgrading of College of Agriculture to Anambra State Polytechnic, ensuring the accreditation of all its twelve courses and the construction of access roads within the Polytechnic as some of the many things the Polytechnic benefited from the present administration, added that as a result of the NBTE accreditation, the Polytechnic has obtained enlistment by JAMB for admission of students and Tertiary Education Trust Fund for the release of annual intervention funds.

For the Provost, Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo, the Obiano administration has impacted positively on both the staff and students of the college especially the elongation of retirement age of teachers, the training and retraining of teachers, which the students, who are future teachers, are benefiting from.

A cross section of individuals, including Chief Nnamdi Okeke, Mrs. Nkolika Ohanmuo, Mr. Onyema Maduekwe, who applauded the education friendliness of Governor Obiano administration, attested that the Anambra Teaching on Air Program during the COVID-19 lockdown by the Ministry of Basic Education in collaboration with Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS was impactful.
