A Mysterious fire that started at around 7pm on the 22nd of December 2019 destroyed up to 500 million naira worth of goods at the Onitsha printing paper dealers market, Woliwo area of Onitsha city, Anambra state
The fire which reduced 300 shops to complete ruins started
after the traders had closed their shops for the day, it took two hours for the
Ogidi Unit State Fire Service to stop the fire.
The Assistant Secretary, Emma Ohanugo on behalf of
the market Chairman said that the State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce,
Dr.Christian Madubuko has visited the scene to talk with the victims and assure
them of assistance from the governor.
