Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Benin Chief, Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan (SAN) was awarded the African Bar Medal of Merit in leadership by the African Bar Association (AFBA). Others, who were also decorated with awards are; the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia Her Excellency Dr. Jewel Taylor and Chief Charles Taku, President of the Association of ICC lawyers, both eminent Africans
His excellency Dr. McCaarthy Chakwera, President of Malawi, gave the award at the African Bar Association Annual Conference held In Lilongwe, Malawi on the 8th of August.
The SAN is also a former Edo state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. Regarding prominence and legal uprightness, Uwensuyi-Edosomwan has been recognized as one of those advocates to be reckoned with.

Lately, He was one of those notable voices that clamored for the return of Benin artifacts in Germany’s possession among many other humanitarian pursuits. No surprise that Uwensuyi-Edosomwan (SAN) was handed the plaque of the award.
