Nigeria must not be allowed to disintegrate, says Ezeife

Former Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said Nigerians; especially politicians must work hard to ensure that Nigeria does not disintegrate‎ in order for the country to attain its manifest destiny.

Ezeife, who spoke yesterday during his opening remarks at 5th Anniversary, Annual Lecture / Awards and Gala Nite of Nigerian Pilot ‎Newspaper, said Nigeria’s manifest destiny is to wipe off the shame of slavery.

According to the former governor, all black people around the world look up to Nigeria as the most populous black nation in the face of the earth.

He said that past leaders have not made Nigerians proud enough to love the country to the extent of opting to die for Nigeria.

According to him, instead of fighting over regions and ethnicity Nigerians ‎should think positively for the respect of all blacks who look up to it, stressing that Nigeria was designed for greatness.

“The political class should think positively. We should not allow Nigeria to disintegrate for the respect of black people all over the world who look up to us to wipe off the shame of slavery,”‎ he said.

Also speaking, a legal practitioner, Chief Mike Ozekhome, called on the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly go and nip the issue and agitation of Biafra in the bud.

Ozekhome, who made the call while delivering a lecture entitled ‘Democracy in Africa: Emerging Security Threats: Issues and Challenges’ also noted that self determination is part and parcel of people’s right.Read Here!
