2022 AASDU Lecture and Award Day

The lecture and awards ceremony of the Association of Anambra State Development Union (AASDU) was held on Saturday, 5th November 2022.

The lecture and award ceremony is an annual event organised by AASDU to honour the great achievements of illustrious and conscientious Anambra sons and daughters in their various industries.

The colourful ceremony took place at the Villa Dome event centre, Ikoyi Lagos and was graced by the incumbent Governor of Anambra state, his excellency Governor Charles Soludo ably represented.

The royal father of the day at the award day was His Royal Highness Igwe Un Amb. Godwin Ogo Ezeilo, the Obu Nanka of Nanka. He performed the breaking of the kolanut, a gesture in Igbo tradition that signifies mutual respect and community


The guests arrived between 12 and 1pm and took pictures on the red carpet.

The President of the AASDU, Chief Sir. Amechi Ebeledike, FCA who expressed his delight of the achievements of “ndi Anambra” in the most auspicious way. He expressed his gratitude to the grand-patron of the union, Executive Governor of Anambra state, the Royal Father for his wisdom and contributions, the Chairman of the event for their commitment and service, and also the guest speaker.

The Keynote guest speaker at the 2022 AASDU lecture and award day was seasoned prolific writer, Mr. Ifeanyi Igwebike Mbanefo. He is a former Manager Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Nigeria LNG Limited, African Gold Quill Award Winner for crisis communication amongst many other notable accolades.



Notable Awardees include: Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCVO, CFR, CON who was given the Special Award of Excellence in career and profession; Chief Hon. Mbazulike Amaechi, Dara Akunwafor who was given a posthumous Special Award of excellence in Leadership and service to humanity;
