20-suspects-in-ndlea-net-over-drug-trafficking-in-edo

About 20 suspects have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Edo Command in connection with illicit drug trafficking.

According to the State Commander of the agency, Mr Buba Wakawa, he stated that the suspects, about 18 males and 2 females, were arrested in October and were found with 2,390.854 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa, as well as psychotropic substances.

Wakawa told The News Agency of Nigeria in an interview in Benin that a suspected cannabis sativa farm measuring approximately 6.9 hectares was destroyed by the command within the period. He

Wakawa further revealed that the command also secured 11 convictions within the same period, while 32 cases were still pending in court.

He added that the command also counseled 13 drug users comprising of nine males and four females.(NAN)
