Warri People Wear Clothes Inside Out.

The death of Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse the 2nd was pronounced officially yesterday by Warri Traditional Council of Chiefs . Immediately after the announcement Chief Yahya Pessu, member, Olu Advisory Council and other chiefs also announced Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko (pictured left above) as the Olu-designate

Itsekiri nation world wide, will immediately proceed on a three months mourning period and as part of the mourning activities, they will be expected to wear their clothes inside-out; that is to tie their traditional wrappers upside down said Chief  Yahya Pessu, “All Itsekiri adults both male and female will put their clothes inside out throughout this period of mourning. Celebration of any sort will not take place in Itsekiri land, till after 3 months when the mourning period is over, and the new Olu takes over the ancient stool.
