Gov. Obiano Of Anambra State Vows To Prioritize Security.

On the 20th of June 2017,  Governor Willie Obiano pledged that his administration will continue to prioritize security of lives and properties of the citizenry. He made this speech at the Synod Thanksgiving Service and the Launching of Development Projects at Saint James Anglican Church, Azigbo in Nnewi South. He added that the government is planning creative strategies to enhance the transformation of the area, stating that the state has become self-sufficient on rice production.

Furthermore, he announced that efforts are geared towards massive production of cassava and maize to deepen the agricultural production capacity of the state and the Governor promised to assist in tackling the poor power supply to Amichi and environs through the reactivation of the 7.5 KVA injection station in the area. He stated that government will take up the asphalting’s of the compound of the School of Nursing in Amichi to enhance its accreditation, and stressed that more grants will be released to mission hospitals to help them perform optimally.

The Anglican bishop of Amichi Diocese, Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor commended the Governor for the provision of adequate security in the area, adding that the gesture has brought about sustained economic activities and attraction of development projects. Also he urged citizens to applaud leaders for excellent performance to enable them do more. He solicited the help of government and individuals in tackling issues confronting the diocese, especially its health and academic institutions. The service was graced by numerous bishops, priests, legislators, government functionaries, traditional rulers, knights and ladies of the church as well as other dignitaries.
