Registered as Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Limited (ANAMMCO Limited), the Company was incorporated on January 17, 1977. The Foundation Stone laying ceremony was performed on May 12, 1978 while the factory was commissioned on July 8, 1980 by the first executive President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Official production activities started in January, 1981.

Originally a joint venture between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Daimler-Benz AG (now Daimler AG) of Germany, the Government has, today, almost divested from the Company and part of its interests has been sold to private investors. The plant remains a shining example of a viable economic and technological co-operation between Nigeria and foreign investors. Daimler AG has also divested 100% from the company.

The Company is located on a 300,000 square meter site located strategically on the airport road at Emene Industrial Layout, Enugu. Its main line of business is assembly and production of Commercial Vehicles – trucks, buses and utility vehicles, from 5 tons payload and above.

Over the years, the Company has produced over 30,000 units of commercial vehicles for the Nigerian and West African markets. ANAMMCO vehicles are significantly at the vanguard of road mass transit and haulage services in Nigeria. From the very popular and successful L911 truck, the Company developed and introduced various trucks and bus models over time.”

Products: City buses, Coaches, and Super structures (cooling van, master lifter, motorized drill, skip loader, refuse compactor, etc.)

With appropriate economic policies and customer goodwill, ANAMMCO (and IVM) can/should support a high proportion of automobile needs of SE States, the nation and Sub-Saharan Africa, thus providing numerous direct and indirect jobs for our teaming unemployed.
