Officials of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) are currently monitoring Local Government Areas in the state to  ensure that that residents in areas likely to be displaced by floods are evacuated.

Anambra state is currently slated as one of the 11 flood-prone states in Nigeria. Already, some residents of other states have been displaced by flood, as predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, as a result of their non-adherence to earlier warnings. The executive secretary of the agency in the state has stated that Anambra has 28 camps ready for those that might be displaced.
